Meet the Team

Dr. Steven E. Caplan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Johns Hopkins Bayview/FSK Medical Center and received his Dermatology training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is currently serving as Chief of Dermatology for the York Hospital.

Dr. Caplan is also highly experienced in the areas of fillers and injectibles for cosmetic procedures.

Dr. John G. Stoner, Jr. is a graduate of Lehigh University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a one year internship and an additional year of residency in Family Practice at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Stoner completed his dermatology training at the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown where he also served as Chief Medical Resident from 2010 to 2011. During his training, Dr. Stoner received several awards including the national 2010 Koprince Award and the 2011 James Bernard, D.O., FAOCD, AOCD Residency Leadership Award, both from the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

Dr. Stoner is Board Certified in dermatology by the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and holds memberships in several specialty associations.

Dr. Iorizzo is originally from a small city in upstate New York. He graduated from Union College with a bachelor of science. He then went on to complete his medical school training at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and stayed there for a one year internship in internal medicine.

Following this, Dr. Iorizzo completed his dermatology residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. During this time he served as Chief Resident from 2010-2011. After his residency, he went to Vanderbilt Medical University in Nashville, TN. At Vanderbilt, Dr. Iorizzo received training in the highly specialized area of Mohs micrographic surgery. After his fellowship, Dr. Iorizzo worked in Albany, NY for three years as a Mohs surgeon and dermatologist.

Dr. Iorizzo is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He is also a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. Throughout his career, Dr. Iorizzo has numerous journal and book publications including articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He has also presented numerous times at local, regional, and national conferences.

Dr. Iorizzo holds staff positions at all local hospitals, including York, Memorial, Hanover, and Gettysburg Hospitals. He also participates in dermatology clinic at York Hospital.

Dr. Iorizzo joined Dermatology Associates of York in August 2015. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of skin cancer, performs Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers, and practices general dermatologic surgery.

Dr. Kathryn Nicholson graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology and Engineering. She received her MD degree from the Penn State University in Hershey, PA. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI, where she also served an additional year as Chief Medical Resident. Following a fellowship in Nephrology at Harvard, Dr. Nicholson spent the next several years practicing as a board certified Internist and Nephrologist.

Dr. Nicholson has now turned her medical expertise to the field of cosmetic dermatology. She will be providing a full spectrum of cosmetic treatments and looks forward to helping our patients with their skin care goals.

Dr. Amanda Bowman has joined our team at the Center for Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Bowman is not new to the area as she has been caring for women of all ages for many years as an OB/GYN physician. Graduating from the University of Delaware, continuing Medical School at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by an Internship and Residency at York Hospital in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Bowman’s background as a gynecologic surgeon transitions well to delivering high-quality care to patients by using precise injection techniques. Dr. Bowman has successfully completed extensive training for all the treatments she will be offering at Center for Cosmetic Dermatology. Having trained physicians perform these delicate procedures is key to achieving desired results.

Jennifer provides aesthetic peels and microdermabrasion services for our clients as well as color match analysis and make up lessons. She attended the Lancaster School of Cosmetology and continues to update her knowledge of colors, trends, and techniques to share with her clients in helping them look their best. Jennifer’s expertise addresses all skin care issues including acne, sun damage, and general aging concerns. Her treatment goals include the implementation of a customized skin care regime as well as delivering a service plan that exceeds her patient’s skin care expectations.

Lana’s passion is in the treatment of acne and hyper pigmented skin care issues, which includes melasma and sun damage. Her goal is to help her clients resolve their skin care concerns and achieve healthy, glowing complexions through a personalized combination of the proper skin care regime and an aesthetic treatment plan. Lana provides her expertise in both the York and Hanover offices. She holds her License in Aesthetics from the York County School of Technology. Prior to joining us, Lana founded her own business, Le Belle Skin.

Veronica is a nationally certified medical assistant since 2014 as well as a licensed cosmetologist since 2017. She became dual certified in hopes of combining her knowledge and interests in one job. Veronica says that her position here at CCD made her wish come true. Working here as a laser hair and Vanquish-Me technician and assisting the physicians as a medical assistant has married both of her trades and she couldn’t be happier! Constantly expanding her knowledge so patients can be well informed on their treatment and together they can achieve the best result. If Veronica had to pick one thing to be most proud of it is being a safe and trustworthy provider for patients from all different backgrounds who struggle with unwanted body and facial hair.

Barbie brings a vast amount of cosmetic knowledge and experience to her role as a provider assistant to both Dr. Bowman and Dr. Nicholson. Her multiple years of experience in the cosmetic industry are valuable in helping our patients with appointment coordination, product recommendations, and treatment information. Barbie also has an extensive background in sales, marketing, and customer service in both the banking and retail jewelry arenas. Barbie’s care, professionalism, and passion are evident in her interactions with our patients.
